Gerald Joseph Breaux Sr. "Buzz"

Gerald Joseph Breaux, Sr. "Buzz", age 71, a native and resident of Lockport, passed away Monday, January 08, 2018 after courageously fighting ALS for many years.

Visitation will be held at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport, on Wednesday, January 10th from 11 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the church starting at 1 pm with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Thibodaux Breaux; two sons, Gerald J. Breaux Jr. and wife Dawn and Brent Breaux and wife Chentelle. Gerald was the proud grandfather of Sawyer, Bobby, Courtlyn and Coewen. Gerald leaves behind 3 sisters; Betty B. Edwards and husband John "Butch" Edwards, Joyce B. Polkey and husband Gary Polkey, Marilyn B. Brown and brothers Carol B. Breaux and wife Gracie C. Breaux and Raymond M. Breaux, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their spouses.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Leonise R. and Junius F. Breaux; grandparents, Edgar and Stella Griffin Breaux and Leon and Emily Gautreaux Rogers; brother-in-law, Bart B. Brown.

Buzz worked in the insurance business for 31 years, 12 years with Lafourche Parish Council, served as Lafourche Parish President for 4 years, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #3054 for over 30 years. For 37 years he played joyously the role of "Old St. Nick" for parades, schools, organizations, nursing homes, etc. throughout many parishes.
