Gerald "Jerry" "Curly" Joseph Barbier Sr., 77, a native of Harvey and resident of Des Allemands, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beatrice Matherne Barbier; son, Gerald J. Barbier Jr. and wife, Monique; daughters, Donna Maldonado and husband, Stephen, and Nicole Breaux and husband, Terry; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Patricia Cortez, Margaret Chaisson and Leslie Jean Ledet.He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Barbier Sr. and Gladys Brignac Barbier; and brothers, Percy T. Barbier and Hubert J.
