George A. Guidry, 75, a native of Cut Off and resident of Gheens, died at 2:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens. Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie C. Guidry; three daughters, Karen G. Dufrene and husband, Troy, Angela G. Falgout and husband, Kerry, and Maria G. Lee and husband, Ricky; seven grandchildren, Alicia D. Arabie and husband, Jamie, Lauren Dufrene, Hilary Falgout, Beau Falgout, Brianna Lee, Cameron Lee and Ashton Lee; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Jaxton Arabie; one brother, Walter Guidry Jr. and wife, Dolores; and one sister, Vina G. Plaisance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Isabel L. Guidry; one brother-in-law, Freddie Plaisance; and one sister, Evida Rodrigue and husband, John.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was treasurer of Vacherie-Gheens Community Center, Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony, and he worked for Coca-Cola.
