Genevia S. Rogers, 88, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Marlin Rogers and wife Eileen; daughters, Cindy Braud and husband Tommy, Sue Hogan and husband Bryan; sister, Loretta Vial; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, P.J. Rogers; parents, Corbett and Sedonia Savoie; brothers, Clarence, Ralph and Warren Savoie.
She was a member of St. Gertrude Ladies Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Queen of the Krewe of Des Allemands Carnival Club, Granny Queen of Des Allemands Catfish Festival in 2013. She also enjoyed quilting with her friends and serving her community and church.
