Geneva Gautreaux Chisum

Geneva Theresa Gautreaux Chisum, age 67, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until a Liturgy of the Word at 7:00 p.m.

Geneva is survived by her brother, Lawrence T. Gautreaux; sisters, Brenda G. Rogers and Trudy G. Smith; nieces and nephews, Deana C. Folse (Todd, Sr.), Danny “Boo” J. Cadiere, Jr. (Dawn), Dale J. Cadiere (Stacey), Dawn M. Cadiere, Melisa S. Danos, Buffy Smith, Steve P. Smith, Johnahon Gautreaux (Kristy), Amanda Gautreaux, and Patricia Gautreaux; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Elton Joseph Gautreaux, Sr. and Irene Marie Price Gautreaux; brothers, Elton J. Gautreaux, Jr. and Patrick C. Gautreaux; sister, Jane G. Cadiere; brothers-in-law, Willard Rogers and Danny Cadiere, Sr.; nephew, John P. Gautreaux; and her fur babies, Kizzy, Brandy and Pomy.

Geneva was part owner of Ruth’s Alterations with her sister Brenda. She was a member of the Krewe of Cleopatra for 10 years. She was an avid Saints fan. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Haydel, Dr. Scott Haydel, Haydel Family Hospice, and family and friends who help though this difficult time.
