Gene Paul Champagne, 83, a native and resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, April 11, 2022 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Raceland, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Mary’s Mausoleum.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathryn “Kitty” Champagne; daughter, Celeste (Allen) Thibodaux; grandchildren, Krystle (Kenny) Dion, Dusty (Melissa) Thibodaux, Ashley Thibodaux, Derek (Melanie) Champagne, Jessica Aucoin, Justin (TaKeyla) Detillier, Jarred (Marteil) Detillier; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and one grandson, Sebastian Chavez that thought of him like a father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paulin and Anicia Champagne; daughter, Cindy Detillier; son, Brian Champagne, and granddaughter, Naomi Champagne.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
