Frederick J. Pierce, Sr., 91 a native of Raceland, La. and resident of Lockport, La. passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 with his loving family near his side.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Hilary Catholic Church from 9:30 am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am at St. Hilary Catholic Church with burial at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.
Frederick is survived by his children; Paulette Pertuit, Mary Gaudet, Linda Eschette, Jenny (Melvin) Melancon, Mitzi (Charles) Cranshaw, and Michelle Folse, 74 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers; Daniel Pierce and Herbert Pierce, and sister; Elsie Trant.
Frederick was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years; Betty Punch Pierce, children; Frederick Pierce Jr., Michael Pierce, and Susan P. Robichaux, grandchild; Michael Pierce, parents; Franklin B. Pierce, Sr. and Juliette Richard Pierce, sons-in-law; Danny Robichaux and Ernest “Poncho” Eschette.
Frederick was an avid farmer both sugarcane and vegetable. In his younger years he worked in the oilfield and also sold farm equipment. But, he always went back to his love of farming. For many years he was awarded the highest yield in sugar cane production per acre. The love of his family always kept him focused.
