Frank D. Daviet, 85, a native and resident of Lockport, was entrusted to God's Loving Care on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at his home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and an honorary procession from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Savior Church in Lockport. Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Mark S. Daviet and wife, Mary Pat, and Barry J. Daviet and wife, Rhonda; two daughters, Jane M. Daviet Simons and husband, Buddy, and Laurie A. Daviet Hohensee and husband, Barry; sister-in-law, Joy Daviet; one brother, Joseph Henry Daviet Jr.; one sister, Yvonne D. Grimes; eight grandchildren, Thomas J., Aaron, Brad, and Sarah Daviet, Amy Alvarez, Erin Simons, and Bobby and Cory Hohensee; and four great-grandchildren, Francesca and Sophia Daviet, and Aubrey and Elizabeth Alvarez.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Elizabeth Toups Daviet; his parents, Joseph and Margie McGraw Daviet; and two sons, Chris J. and Glenn D. Daviet
Frank was a 68 year active service member of the Lockport Volunteer Fire Department having acted as past chief and president. A World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a past commander and active member of the American Legion Post 83. Frank also was a member of Lafourche Parish Fire District 2 and current president of the Lockport Senior Citizens Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the V.H. Boudreaux Senior Citizens Center in Lockport.
