Forest Joseph Doucet, 94, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Odile) Doucet and Kenneth "Nico" (Marlis) Doucet; daughters, Martha (Linton) Griffin and Gloria (Clarence) Hebert; brother, Vincent Doucet; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Griffin Doucet; parents, Julian and Elodie Rousse Doucet; brothers, Oris, Octave, Clarence and Infant Doucet; sisters, Ranza Doucet, Leonise Doucet, Armina Bychurch, Theresa Long and Infant Doucet; and one great-grandchild.
Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
