Eunice Joseph "E. J." Richardelle, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2018, at his home.
E. J. was born on February 26, 1933, in Larose. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katherine Curole Richardelle; his daughter Cheryl R. Cheramie and her husband, Rickey J. Cheramie; his sons Jimmy Richardelle, Darryl Richardelle and his wife, Lisa Comeaux Richardelle; 2 granddaughters Danielle Richardelle Downey and her husband, Beau Downey, and Sydney Richardelle; 2 step-grandsons, Christian Kim, Derek Kim and his wife, Megan Kim; 2 step-great-grandsons Ky Kim and Ezra Kim. 2 sisters Enona Martin and Doris Pellegrin and her husband Johnny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Richardelle and Irene LeBlanc Richardelle; an infant brother, Jimmy Richardelle; his daughter-in-law, Cori Edwards Richardelle; and his brothers-in-law, Louis Tilman Martin and Bob Curole.
E. J. was employed by Chevron Oil Co. as an offshore employee for 35 years and had been retired for 27 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, going to casinos, and doing yard work. In his younger days E. J. enjoyed going to the Saturday night dances with his wife and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 9 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A second visitation will be held from 9 AM to 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off on Saturday, March 3, 2018. A mass of Christian burial will follow. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
