Estelle Seibert Scheuermann Robichaux, lovingly known as "Boo" to family and friends, died peacefully at home Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
She was born in New Roads Aug.24, 1921, and she made her home in Raceland for nearly 70 years.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church in Raceland, A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Monday at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie R. Livingston and husband, Robert, Alice R. Bonneval and Dr. Monte M. Bonneval, Dr. Richard E. Robichaux Jr. and wife, Denise, and Leslie R. Suazo and husband, Herminio; former husband, Dr. Richard E. Robichaux; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Scheuermann, of New Orleans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two children, Estelle Seibert Robichaux and René Scheuermann Robichaux; grandson, Richard Godwin Livingston; father, Joseph "Daddy Red" Augustus Scheuermann; two loving mothers. Estelle S. Scheuermann and Wenonah S. Scheuermann; loving grandmother, Marie "Mamma" Sophie Belzons Seibert; grandfather, Josiah "Poppa" William Seibert; sister, Wandah Marie "Cookie" Scheuermann; and brother, George William Scheuermann.
"Boo" was an active volunteer in civic and community affairs. She was a founding member of the Lafourche Parish Republican Women's Club; served on the Republican State Central Committee and served as a member of the Electoral College for the 1988 presidential election. She was a member and past Regent of the Bayou Lafourche Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served for several years as a board member of the Lafourche Parish Chapter of the American Cancer Society. She was a longtime member of Thibodaux Music Club, Orleans Club and Catholic Daughters as well as the Lafourche Heritage Society.
"Boo" was devoted to her family, faith and country.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457 or to the Armed Forces Foundation, 16 N. Carolina Ave. S.E., Washington, DC 20003.
Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
