Ernest "Chick" John Griffin Jr., 75, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Lirette Griffin; four daughters, Lisa Karr and husband, Andre', Kelly Voisin and husband, Carroll Jr., Stacey Lagarde and husband, Randy, and Torey Smith and husband, Robert; nine grandchildren, Justin Lagarde, Andy Voisin and wife, Ashley, Jennifer Norris and husband, Logan, Mindy Voisin, Jordan Lagarde, John Karr, Kristin Lagarde, Scott Hall and Robbie Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jovi Voisin, Jacob Norris and Joel Voisin; one brother, Wallace Griffin; and one sister, Elda Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Elda Marroy Griffin; one granddaughter, Casie Voisin; two brothers, Howard and Peter Griffin; and one sister, Eunice Robichaux.
He was also known as Paw-Paw fix, he enjoyed fishing and cooking cracklins' for other folks. He worked at Witco Chemical for more than 25 years.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
