Ernest Joseph “Poncho” Eschette Jr., 55, a native and resident of Lockport, died Saturday, April 9, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Linda P. Eschette; his mother, Marie G. Eschette; one daughter, Alexis E. Crochet and husband, Nelson Jr.; one son, Ross M. Eschette and fiancee, Angeline M. Dufrene; one stepdaughter, Jessie L. Pierce; two grandchildren, Madalyn R. Crochet and Myles M. Crochet; two brothers, Steve A. Eschette and wife, Darnell, and Mark A. Eschette and wife, Michelle; and two sisters, Marlene E. Knight and husband, Brad, and Jill E. Picou and husband, Troy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest J. Eschette Sr.; one sister, Donna J. Eschette; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Israel Eschette Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gautreaux.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ochsner St. Anne General Hospital and Ochsner Main Campus in Jefferson.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
