Emily M. Walker, 105, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, died at 4:30 a.m. Wed., Jan. 25, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two nephews, Michael McLaughlin and Henry McLaughlin both of Houma; and niece, Pamela Spiers of Houma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Azima Walker; two brothers, Agney Walker and Edward "Pete" Walker; and two sisters, Agnes Walker and Louise McLaughlin.
She saw active duty in World War II as a nurse. She rose to the rank of First Lieutenant serving in Normandy and Rhineland. She was a special caregiver to her sister, Louise McLaughlin.
