Emile Joseph Alleman, 92, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Raceland, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Eldise Bourgeois Alleman; son, Ronny Joseph Alleman and wife, Joan; daughters, Darlene Alleman Dupuy and husband, Tony, and Sable Alleman Cheramie; sister, Ivy Mae Aucoin; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Augustine Alleman; mother, Bibinne Blanchard Alleman; brother, Steward Alleman; and son-in-law Kurt Cheramie.
Emile spent 37 years in the Louisiana oilfields working with GULF and was known to many as "Ally-Oop" on the CB radio. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He loved garage sales, visiting the casino, traveling the 50 states, carpentry, hand crafts and working outdoors.
Known to his family as a wonderful father, grandfather and a true hardworking American, he will be sadly missed by ALL who knew and loved him.
