Emeline Long Cunningham, July 17, 1923 – May 18, 2021 went to be with her angels.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Saturday, May 22th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Emeline is survived by her children, Joyce Lamkin (Elmer), Jane Kinnard (Sam) and David Cunningham; grandchildren, Kerry Lamkin (Beth), Kayla Clark (Jason), Angelle Cunningham (Ross), Toby Cunningham, Jill Kinnard and Rhett Kinnard; great-grandchildren, Justin Lamkin, Jacob Lamkin, Katie Lamkin, Zachary Clark, Emily Clark, Thomas Clark, Olivia Clark, Brennan St. John, Colin St. John, Evan Broussard, Christian Broussard, Taylie Cunningham, Tye Cunningham, Makenzi Sampey and Carter Sampey; great-great-grandchild, Nathan; many nieces and nephews.
Emeline was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Horace Paul Cunningham and their daughter; parents, Charles Dennis Long and Emily Pitre Long; siblings, Charles Long, Harry Long and Dorothy Authement.
Emeline was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA.
Emeline taught religion for many years and touched many children’s lives. She was a member of St. Joseph Church Alter Society, lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Eucharistic Minister and recipient of St. Louis Medallion.
