Elvin Jacob Babin

Elvin Jacob Babin, 27, a native of Lockport and resident of Houma, LA, gained his wings on Friday, August 19, 2022 while doing what he loved.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever, LA from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00AM.

“Jacob” is survived by his beloved children who were his pride and joy, 2 Sons – Anthony and Adrian Babin, and 1 daughter - Brynlie Babin; His Parents - Elvin Peter “Rev” Babin and Paula Sue Detillier Babin; Sisters- Heather-Lyn (Jory) Falgout, and Hailey (Zeke) Plaisance. He also left behind Grandparents - Irvin “Peter” and Lena Gros Babin, and June Guidry Detillier; Nieces and Nephews - Jack, Claire, Cole, and Ethan Plaisance, and Finn Falgout; Godchildren, Camryn Falgout and Zoey Richard; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, God-Parents, friends, and family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Moise “Mussy” Detillier, Jr. and Dorothy “Dot” Lebeouf Detillier; Step Father, Barry Folse; Uncle, Morgan Hogan; Cousins, Joseph and Thaddeus “Plumpy” Billiot, and childhood best friend, Anthony P.

Jacob was full of life and always had a smile on his face while telling jokes. He loved being on the water and working on the boat where he was actively working towards a career to be and engineer. His three children were his world and he loved them dearly. In his spare time, he enjoyed tattooing friends and family. No matter what he was doing, you were sure to find one of the many kids in his life close in tow.
He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations for his three young children- Anthony, Adrian, and Brynlie.
