Elvie G. Dempster, 86, a native and resident of Luling died Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
Visitation will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church starting at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft, La.
Elvie is survived by her son, Melien "T-Boy" Dempster, Jr. and wife Cynthia; daughter, Susan D. Martinez and husband Daniel A. Martinez, Jr. Grandmother of Celeste Dempster Barrios (Barton),Quinn Dempster (Renee B.), Jake Dempster, Romilee Cortez Broussard (Eric), Edgar Cortez, Jr. (Mindy H.) Also survived by eight great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren.
Elvie retired from St. Charles Parish School System as a cafeteria worker for 17 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidering, word search books, and reading the newspaper.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melien Joseph Dempster, Sr., parents Arthur Gassen, Sr. and Lena B. Gassen; brothers, Arthur Gassen, Jr., Robert Gassen, and William Gassen, Sr.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
