Elsie was a loving and caring mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandma, and friend. In her younger days, she worked very hard with her husband, Dut. They ran a trawl boat to catch shrimp and also fished oysters. She loved being out on the water and spending her days at the camp. She enjoyed sitting outside, taking care of her yard, planting flowers and feeding the birds. If you walked up to her house on any given day, you’d see her sitting on her back porch swing, glasses on, crocheting blankets or Christmas stockings. Her fur baby Tanner John never left her side. Gumbo 94.9 would be on the radio and if she thought it was 5 o’clock somewhere, she would pop a top of a 16-ounce aluminum pint of cold Miller lite. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was easy going and those who knew her loved her. Some loved her so much the called her mom. If she smiled, you smiled. One of her last requests was; “Go live your life” And a quote that is remembered from her late husband, Dut; “That’s a Lick!” We toast you Elsie for all the beautiful memories you left us. Rest peacefully in the arms of God and continue to watch over us every day. “I keep in my heart the love of the past-there, it was planted forever to last”
