Elsie "Marie" Courteaux Domangue

Elsie “Marie” Mary Mae Courteaux Domangue, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 8:21 p.m. She was a native of Montegut and resident of Chauvin, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held in St. Elie Cemetery in Chauvin.

Marie is survived by her sons, Marty J. Domangue and wife, Donna, Audie M. Domangue and fiancé, Sheila LeCompte, and Channing Domangue; daughters, Monica D. Redman, and Elsie D. LeBlanc and husband, Micheal “Mike”; daughter-in-law, June W. Domangue; sisters, Cecilla “Laura” Collins, and Lois Rendall; grandchildren, Whitney (Carroll) Punch, Ashley (Ethan) Rodrigue. Laurel (Jared) Domangue, Kayla (Jordy) Domangue, Ellen (Jacob) Coffman, Chris (Tasha) Ward, Ashleigh (Eric) Romero, Dylan (Candice) Hamilton, David (Lauren) Redman, Aurora (Brandon) Portier, Bobby (Dustin) Adams, Julia (Zach) LeBlanc, Shaun LeBlanc, Shane LeBlanc, and Lacie (Jason) LeBlanc; 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Aswell P. Domangue, Sr.; son, Aswell P. Domangue, Jr.; daughter, Genevieve Gregoire; father, Eulice Johnny Courteaux; mother, Eva Louisa Gregoire and husband, Louis Sr. “Davis”; brothers, Kirby Sr., Ollie Sr., Phillip Sr. “T-Bay”, and Earnest Sr. Courteaux, and Charles Sr. “Jim” and Adam Sr. Gregoire; sisters, Judy Guidry and Eva Lyn Courteaux; stepsisters, Mary Gregoire Domangue, and Rosella Gregoire Hodge; stepbrothers, Louis Jr. and Patrick Gregoire; and 5 Godchildren.

Marie was a charter member of the Little Caillou Baptist Mission, and United Houma Nation and served as tribal councilman for many years. She enjoyed working in the flower garden, beading working, painting, sewing and junking with her grandkids.
