Elmire "Ma Ma" Cheramie Rousse, 88, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away May 19, 2014. Visitation will take place at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano on Thursday May 22 from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm and on Friday May 23 from 8:00 am till funeral time. Funeral Services will be held in the parlor on Friday beginning at 11:00 am with burial following in Cheramie Cemetery.
Mrs. Elmire is survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and her sisters Aglaie "LaLay" Cheramie Adams and Edna Cheramie Duet.
She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest Joseph Rousse, sons Forrest Rousse Jr. and Danny Rousse Sr., parents Theodore Cheramie and Edna Guidry Cheramie, and brothers Alicide Cheramie, Noel Cheramie, Remis Cheramie, Eugene Cheramie, Ludwick "Billy" Cheramie, Edwin Cheramie, Edville Cheramie, Aziel "Yi Yie" Cheramie, and Howell Cheramie.
