Edwina G. Waguespack, 97, a native of Raceland, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020.
A private ceremony at the graveside will be held for the immediate family.
She is survived by her son, Robert J. Waguespack, grandsons, Johnny and James Grabert, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Waguespack, and daughter, Barbara Waguespack Grabert.
During WWII, Edwina worked for the Celotex Corporation in New Orleans as a lab technician from 1943 to 1945. Edwina’s love for others extended far beyond her family, leaving many with fond memories of “Maw Wags”. Through hardship and personal tragedy, she never lost her faith in people and forgave all who harmed her. She was the rarest of the rare, a true Christian.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Thibodaux Healthcare Center for their care and compassion during difficult times.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
