Edwin E. Gilbert, 64, a native of Buffalo, N.Y. and resident of Raceland, died Saturday, July 16, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday, July 21 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21 at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Gilbert; his mother, Stella Gilbert; two daughters, Tracy Gilbert Gregory, and Krista Gilbert Marz and husband, Tommy; one sister, Joyce Opala; and two grandchildren, Katherine Gilbert and Christopher D. Hurst.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Gilbert.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church and a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was a dedicated nurse, an avid Saints and LSU fan, and a hunter.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
