Edway A. Vegas Sr., 85, a native of Cut Off, and resident of Galliano, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
He is survived by his son, Edway A. Vegas Jr. and wife, Michelle Vegas; daughter, Elizabeth Vegas Toups and husband, Leo J. Toups Jr.; two siblings; and three grandchildren, Lacie Jane Toups, Luke J. Toups and Emilee Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melva Jane Vegas; parents, Antoine and Elida G. Vegas; and nine siblings.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He loved woodworking and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
