Edward Lamar Evans, Sr., 83, a native of Coushatta and a resident of Houma, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday, April 19 at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 AM until service time on Thursday, April 20 at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church in Houma. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 PM on Thursday at St. Bernadette with burial to follow at Terrebonne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his sons, Edward Evans, Jr. and companion, Belinda Pellegrin, and Maurice Evans and wife, Shanie Evans; daughters, Elizabeth Collier and husband, James, Tammy Sanchez and husband, Ramiro, and Virginia Evans and fiancé, Clay Laoy; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 sisters-in-law, and 4 brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Eve Ledet Evans; parents, Claude and Mamie Evans; brothers, Earl Evans, John Evans, James Evans, and Johnnie Evans; sister, Virginia Elizabeth Evans; 2 sons-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.
He was a 3rd degree member of St. Bernadette KC 7355, a charter member of Father August Vandebilt Assembly 2322, a member of the United Veterans League, a charter member and senior vice commander of DAV bayou chapter 9, and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
