Earlynn Olden

February 27, 1934 — June 6, 2017

Earlynn Joyce Olden, 83, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Houma, fell asleep in death on June 6, 2017. Earlynn had a great love of gardening, and she was well known for the beautiful flowers that she raised and sold. She was a former member of the Orchid Society, where she won many awards for the gorgeous orchids that she so tenderly cared for and raised. She was also an avid fisherwoman and a wonderful cook. She loved preparing meals for her family and friends. Earlynn was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and had a deep faith firmly rooted in the truth of the scriptures and in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, at Falgout funeral home from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow funeral service at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
She is survived by her three sons, Douglas Olden, Dennis Olden Sr. and wife Debra, and Kenneth Olden Jr. and wife Debbie; daughter Tammy Temple and husband Rocky; 12 grandchildren, Andrea Olden Rhodes, Christian Olden, Dennis Olden Jr. (Jill), Kacie Woods (Cory), Travis Olden (Tabitha), Melanie Soignet (Tim), Michelle Olden Ledet, Katrina Olden (Jason), Jason Boudreaux (Mindy), Ashley Bergeron (Derek), Rachel Temple (Brad), and Sarah Temple; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and her brother Ron Beadle along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Olden Sr.; father, Earl Beadle; mother, Sarah Guercio Beadle; two sisters, Joann Wilkerson and Judy Suberville. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
