He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Sadler Hough; his parents, Walter Hough and Jodi Adams Hough; one sister, Sybil Martin Hough; and four brothers, Clinton Hough, H.C. Hough, Curtis Hough and Atone Hough.
He was born in Minden on Dec. 21, 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hough. He had one brother, one sister and four half-brothers. After high school he enlisted in the National Guard. While stationed in San Diego, he met and married his first wife, Beverly Sadler. Soon after, he was deployed to Germany with the Army during World War II. After his tour of duty in the military, he lived in Tampa, Florida where his daughter Joy was born, then on to Houma where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was employed in the oilfield and as a draftsman.
After the death of his first wife, he fell in love with and married Lorina Hebert. They shared many loves and hobbies together such as gardening, ceramics, traveling, and a stunning annual Christmas light display. Mr. Hough expressed his love for his dear wife openly and often, and those around them found their love endearing.
An avid hunter, fisherman and all-around outdoorsman, Mr. Hough enjoyed annual hunting trips to Colorado. He also loved spending time at his deer camps in Morganza and Jonesboro, Louisiana. He served as Master Mason of Unity Lodge 267 and an Honorary Past Master of Terrebonne Fellowship Lodge 481 and Walter I. Lanier Lodge 307. He faithfully served The Lodge with his time and talents, giving his all to his brother Masons.
Mr. Hough was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma.
Everyone who knew Mr. Hough, or Daddo as his grandchildren called him, knew him as loving, kind and generous. He never hesitated to help a friend or neighbor in need, and did so with genuine sincerity. With a witty sense of humor and a knack for story-telling, Mr. Hough was a joy to be around.
The family would like to thank the kind nurses and staff of Terrebonne General and Hospice of South Louisiana.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
