Dudley Paul Gaudet, 88, a native and lifelong resident of Raceland, LA peacefully went to be with our Lord on, May 13, 2023.
Dudley is survived by his daughter, Bonny G. Boudreaux; son, Matthew J. Gaudet; sister, Brenda G. Griffin (Robert); sisters-in-law, Loyce S. Gaudet & Nell H. Gaudet; grandchildren, Hannah B. Vollenweider (Kris), Meridith L. Boudreaux (Cameron), Jolie N. Gaudet, Gillian O. Gaudet; four great-grandchildren; numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews and his canine and feline companions, Resse and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Devin L. Boudreaux; daughter, Marla R. Gaudet; son-in-law, Gary L. Boudreaux; wife, Viola F. Gaudet; parents,
Eddie J. Gaudet and Pearl D. Gaudet; brothers, Milton J. Gaudet, Hubert “Toby” Gaudet and twin brother, Douglas J. Gaudet (Marie).
Dudley a US Army Veteran, worked for Cenac Towing, and retired from Avondale Shipyard. He spoke Cajun French and loved Cajun music and dancing. He was a devoted catholic, a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, a member of the Raceland Lions Club and the American Legion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20th at Falgout Funeral Home, in Raceland, from 9 am until service time. A memorial service will be held at 11 am with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
