Douglas "Doug" E. Acosta, 98, a native and resident of Raceland, died on Monday, October 23, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time on Thursday, October 26 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at St. Hilary with burial to follow at Holy Savior cemetery in Lockport.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Walker (Colbert), Loretta Hargrove (Floyd), Cynthia Crochet, Paulette Jackson (John), and Stephen "Steve" Acosta (Joy); 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve "Mickey" Acosta; parents, Ives and Beulah Acosta; siblings, Jackson Acosta and Amelia Hebert.
The family would like to thank Father P.J., St. Joseph Hospice, and sitters, Audrey, Louise, Olivia.
