Dorthy Whatley, 79, a native of Jefferson, Texas and resident of Houma, died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Bill Whatley; two sons, Bryan and wife, Tammy, and Bruce and wife, Kim Whatley; grandchildren, Bryan Jr., Tanner, Braden, Alicia, and Sierra Whatley, Victoria and Michael Kemp; three brothers, Ernest Jr., Jiggs, and Don Allen; and one sister, Jewel Fason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Verna Hanson Allen.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma and former proprietor of Chateau Des Enfant Kindergarten.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
