Dorothy "Dot" Austin Lagarde, 64, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, died on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma, and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Michael J. Lagarde; her father, Peter Austin; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Lagarde; two sons, Tommy Lagarde and wife, Wendy and Danny and wife, Kristie; daughter, Nicole Lagarde Galey and husband, Billy Galey III; five grandchildren, Chandler, Lee, Areil, Alexus and Gavin; two step grandchildren, Courtney and Kaleb.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Breaux Austin; father-in-law, Joseph Andrew Lagarde; and her grandparents.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She loved to go crabbing with her family, sewing, taking pictures and flowers. She retired as a waitress at Dave's Cajun Kitchen where she enjoyed meeting and caring for customers.
