Dora Dufrene Matherne

Dora Dufrene Matherne, 88, a native and resident of Bayou Gauche, LA, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Life Fellowship Church, Bayou Gauche, LA. Religious services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Bennett Dufrene (Jenny), daughters, Myra Soule’, Molly Badeaux (Wayne) and Myrna Bertolet; brother, Rev. Achan Dufrene; sisters, Lou Ann Beyl, Leah Amerson, Naomi Sewell; grandchildren Bodie, Grant, Wesley, Dallas, Dane, Farrah, Spencer and Marlo; great grandchildren, Ana, Pandora, Justin, Chelsey, Chrystal, Devin, Tyler, Trinity, Lindsey, Dayton, Danika, Miranda, Madison and Kamdon; great-great grandchildren, Ella and Cullen.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Dufrene; second husband, Johnny Matherne; parents, Leonce and Bernadette Inez Plaisance Dufrene; brothers, Irvin, Edmond, Weldon, Clinton and David Dufrene; sister, Velma Babin; granddaughter, Mara and great granddaughter, Jordan.
Dora enjoyed handcrafts, sewing, cooking and baking for everyone. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
