Dora Rome Champagne

Dora Rome Champagne, 85, a native and resident of Lockport, La. passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Falgout Funeral Home, 600 Church St., Lockport, LA. 70374 from 9:00am until service time. Memorial Services will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Savior Catholic Church cemetery in Lockport.

Dora is survived by Sons, Delaney (Paula), Shannon (Amy), Joshua (Amber), and John (Marsha) Champagne; Daughters, Sidonia (Kirk) Foret, and Brandi (Keith) Barthe; 10 Grandchildren, Kyle (Nicole), Jordy, Mallory, Ethan, Chance, Mckenzie, Beau, Reese, and Logan Champagne, and Peyton Barthe; and 1 Great-grandchild, Nathan James Champagne; 2 Sisters, Grace Delaune, and Jean Theriot.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Joseph Champagne; Son, Chaney Champagne and Wife, Myra Champagne; her parents, Joseph and Sidonia Candies Rome; Brothers, Richard, George, Harold, and Willie Rome; Sisters, Lillian Mayet and Corrine Eschete; and Step-brother, Ewell Rome.

She was the Matriarch of our family and one of the strongest women we knew. She taught us the importance of love, loyalty, and family values by example. Even though she faced adversity and the road she traveled was uncertain, she persevered. Many times, she denied herself and sacrificed for each of her children. Her love was unconditional and will live on through each one of us. She was the true definition of a Mother.
