Donald Joseph Theriot, 83, a resident of Raceland passed away on March 12, 2025.
He is survived by his wife Clara Brocato Theriot; children, Jeff Theriot and wife Wendy, Annette Robichaux and husband Bart and Donnell Hatfield; grandchildren, Justin Theriot and wife Ale, Claire Blanchard, Brady Theriot, Collin DeSandro, Devin DeSandro, Lauren Theriot, Carly DeSandro, Easton Hatfield and great grandchildren, Beckett and Lillie Theriot, step grandchildren, Heather Clement, Mandy Robichaux, Luke Robichaux and step great grandchildren, Creed and Everly Clement and Sawyer Gautreau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Edwise Landry Theriot.
Donald was a devoted and loving husband to Clara for 62 years. He was a 1959 graduate of Raceland High School and was proud to service his country as a United States Army Veteran. Donald was a Rural Letter Carrier in his community for 42 years. Over the years, he was involved in the Raceland Volunteer Fire Department, Lions Club and American Legion Post 349.
Donald always had an infectious smile. He had a great love for his family and friends and he believed strongly in letting them know. Donald enjoyed spending time in his shop, woodworking, fishing, gardening, fixing things and coming up with creative and cool little solutions to life’s everyday challenges. He loved sharing his experiences of traveling the world with his wife and close friends, Donald showed great support for his children and grandchildren at school events and athletic functions.
Visitation will be held in his honor March 17, 2025 at St. Hilary of Poitier Catholic Church in Raceland from 9:00 am until a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting masses to be said in his honor.
