Dolores Matherne Chiasson a native and resident of Bayou Gauche, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024. She was 81 years old. Dolores was born to Felix and Justilia Matherne. She married Eddie (Tony) Chiasson in 1960. Together they raised Blake, Karen and Chad. They had a wonderful life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
Dolores was beloved in the St. Charles Parish Community. She was a grade school teacher, a CCD school teacher and a member of St. John the Baptist Council of Catholic Women and the Busy Bee’s organization.
She was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She loved traveling, cooking, flower gardening and especially spending time with her family.
She is loved and survived by her husband of 63 years, Eddie Anthony Chiasson; children, Blake (Tammy), Karen, and Chad (Celeste); grandchildren, Chris and Carla Chiasson, Ty Comardelle, Lydia Savoie, and Abbie Manuel; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Elsie Tauzin, Thelma Leehans, Beverly Mabry, Ernest Matherne, and Gordon Matherne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Justilia Matherne; siblings, Virginia Comardelle, Leroy Matherne, and Audrey Matherne.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral home in Raceland on Tuesday, March 26th from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, March 27th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with a private burial at a later date.
