Gerald Stanley Deroche, 81, a native and resident of Bayou Gauche, died on Saturday, Dec. 22 in Luling.
Visitation was held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church Wednesday, Dec. 26 until Mass of Christian Burial. Burial followed at Sunset Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Louella Hogan Deroche, son Daryl Deroche and wife Diane Insley Deroche, daughter Stephanie Deroche Champagne, sons-in-law Bob Muyco and Sid Landry, brother Daniel Deroche, sisters Ruby D. Coriell, MaeBell D. Hogan, Lois D. Forrest and Barbara D. Weinkauf.
Deroche is also survived by seven grandchildren; Carrie Champagne Folse, Casey Champagne, Jake Muyco, Danielle D. Berthelot, Desiree D. Jewell, Garrett Landry and Dilaney Deroche; two great-grandchildren, Mia Folse and Aiden Jewell and three Godchildren, Debbie Coriell Kelly, Lyle Dufrene and Gwen F. Dufrene.
Preceded in death by his parents Deme-Joseph Francis Deroche and Chloe' Picou Deroche, daughters: Patricia D. Landry and Melissa D. Muyco, brothers Leroy Deroche and Geary Deroche, sisters Garnet D. Simoneaux, Espazie D. Quin and Pearl Deroche.
Gerald was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Korean War.
