David Paul “Monk” Adams, 56, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:42 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to service time Friday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Loretta Voclain, of 19 years; one son, David Jr.; one daughter, Jana Adams and companion; four grandchildren, Deante’ “Tookie”, Ky’Lyn and Ja’Lyn Adams, and Brittany Velasquez; numerous nieces and nephews; two godchildren, Brandi Adams and Jessica Duet; five brothers, Jerry and wife, Julianne “Penny”, Robert and wife, Angela, Donald “Duck” and wife, Liz, Rickie and wife, Greta, and Stephen and wife, Penny Adams; and two sisters, Brenda and husband, Michael Samanie, and Debra A. Champagne and companion, Craig LeBouef.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valdia Jr. and Eula Lapeyrouse Adams; his grandparents, Valdia Sr. and Elizabeth “Bessie” Moore Adams and Louis and Gladys Dupre Lapeyrouse; one brother, Valdia Adams III; and one niece.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Leukemia Society.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
