Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Daniel Joseph Folse, passed away at the age of 88, on January 3, 2017 at home with family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church from 9:00 am until service time. A Mass and Christian burial will be celebrated at the church starting at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores Comeaux Folse; two sons, Glenn Folse (Linda), Herman Folse; three daughters, Cynthia Adams (Kenny), Elaine Foret (Donnie), Kathleen Martin (Mike Miles); ten grandchildren, Chrissie Melancon Leblanc (Corey), Annie Folse Holmes (Eddie), Ashley Folse Gregoire (Jarrod), Melissa Folse, Jessica Ordoyne, Joshua Martin (Brittni Rogers), Josie Foret, Jake Foret (Breanna Nacio), Griffin Folse, Alexis Adams; one step grandchild Nick Adams (Bailey); three great-grandchildren, Sophia Leblanc, Rebekah Martin, Knox Holmes; three step great-grandchildren, Sophia Adams, Casen Rogers, Zachery Rogers; and one sister, Isabella Folse Dufrene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iola Webre Folse and Abel Folse; one brother, Audrey "Gabby" Folse; one sister, Elsie Folse Comeaux; one sister-in-law, Gloria Peters Folse; one brother-in-law, Harrington Dufrene.

Daniel was an employee and retiree of South Coast Sugars Raceland after 44 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during and after the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church.

The family extends their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all Ochsner St. Anne, TGMC, Home Health Services of Thibodaux, and Notre Dame Hospice physicians, medical staff and caregivers for the great care and compassion they provided. Sincerest thanks and appreciation is also extended to St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church clergy and Eucharistic ministers, all family and friends who remained unwavering in their positive thoughts, support and prayers. Special thanks to Lafourche Council on Aging and their dedicated staff for their concern and for the valuable and supportive services provided.

Funeral services are entrusted to Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, LA.
