Craig Anthony Champagne

January 19, 1953 — August 15, 2024

Craig Anthony Champagne, 71, resident of Boutte, was born on January 19th, 1953 and passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He grew up in Luling, LA where he built and raised a beautiful life and family with his wife, Junie. He never met a person he didn't make feel welcome, a problem he couldn’t MacGyver or a deer he couldn't take down. Craig was a lover of many things - cooking up a gumbo, the outdoors, a good joke, the CAMP; but most of all his family. “Paw Paw” loved spending time with his children and grandkids and sharing his love of the outdoors with them. What you saw is what you got with him. He had no filter and a big sense of humor, but he would give you the shirt off his back, and his shoes too if you needed them. Craig was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He enjoyed Friday mornings with his Veri Dei Mens Group deepening his faith with good friends. Craig loved the Lord, and we take comfort in knowing he is at peace in the arms of Jesus.

It is impossible to sum up the life a beloved husband, father, son and friend in one paragraph; but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched with his sense of humor and infectious smile.

Craig is survived by his wife of 35 years, Junie Kerr Champagne; children, Carrie Folse (Heath), Casey Kramer (Mark), Steven Champagne, Marylane Miletello (Matt); grandchildren, Mia, Daniel, Gemma, Isla, Greysen, Ilsa, Hutton; mother, Eula Champagne; mother-in-law, Joan Kerr; sisters-in-law, Cindy Hardage (Bill), Pam Fairley (Ronnie); brothers-in-law, John Kerr (Page), Jimmy Kerr, Jason Kerr (Kelly) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Champagne; father-in-law, Bill Kerr; brother-in-law, Mike Kerr.
