Cleonise "Toot" D. Cheramie, a native and resident of Galliano, was born on Oct. 26, 1915 and died on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 Community Bible. A burial will follow in the Cheramie Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Elman "Moe" Cheramie and wife Stephanie; daughter-in-law, Eloise Cheramie; sister, Mae Doucet; grandchildren, Linda C. Lafont and husband Jerry, Harry Cheramie and wife Gayla, Lee Cheramie, Emily Cheramie Walz and husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Emily Lafont, Noah and Leah Bychurch, Harrison "Huck" Cheramie Walz, Joni P. Duet and husband Jeremy; great-great-grandchildren, Ezra and Finley Duet. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Cheramie Sr.; parents, Leon and Louise Guidry Duet; son, Harrison Cheramie Jr.; grandchild, Myra C. Bychurch; and 18 siblings.
Mrs. Chermaie was an avid lover of people and loved football, and was an awesome cook that will be dearly missed by family and friends. The family would like to thank The Broadway for the care they provided.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
