Cecile Brou Mongrue, 88, a native of Welsh and longtime resident of Luling, died at home on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Charles Cemetery.
She is survived by her loving children, Marie-Helene "Mitzi" Penick, Roy Mongrue Jr. and wife, Lisa, Emma Green and husband, Mark, James Mongrue and wife, Reina, and Marguerite Emerson and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Leslie and husband, Andrew, Jeffrey, Amanda, Emily and husband, Joshua, Gerard, Trey, William, Julie, John, Thomas, Andres, Jacob and Elliot; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Aiden, Helene, and Nathalie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, F.J. and Helene Brou; beloved husband, Roy A. Mongrue; and siblings, Marie-Louise Ladow, Sis. Marguerite Brou, Francis Brou, Maurice Brou, Sis. Jane Frances Brou, Jeanne Caillet and Edward Brou.
She was a faithful servant of God and a devout Catholic. She was a former secretary for St. Charles Parish Schools at J.B. Martin and the Department of Human Resources and Humble Oil Co. Her family would like to thank those who provided wonderful care to our mother over the past year, especially, Irma Grow and Barbara Harry.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
