Catherine Guidry Ougel

Catherine Guidry Ougel, 82, a native and resident of Larose, La, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Visitation will be held from on Wednesday, February 19 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Larose, La. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, with a graveside service to follow at the church cemetery. 

She is survived by her husband of 57 glorious years, Kippy Ougel; daughters, Nikki Ougel and Kristy Pervan Cantrelle (Fiancé Clint Hurst); and son Bart (Tara); brother Jessie Guidry; sisters-in-law, Debbie Guidry, Judy Naquin (Sonny), Patsy Guidry (Keith), Nanette Arabie (Rusty), Niena Matherne (Perry), Melanie Ougel, and Mavis Cheramie; brothers-in-law, Melvin Ougel, Bobby Ougel (Ethelyn), and Brent Ougel; a Godchild very close to her heart, Margo Yates Bethea; and grandchildren, Blake (Fiancé Angelle), Blaine, and Brock Ougel, Kade and Klaire Cantrelle; along with many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her sister; Patsy Guidry Quatrevingt; parents, Antoine and Louise Guidry; parents-in-law, Edward (Edize) and Flavia Ougel; brothers, Jake Guidry, Sr., Phillip Guidry, and Carroll Guidry; sisters-in-law, Peggy Guidry, Loretta Guidry, Connie Ougel, Ethel Ougel; brothers-in-law, Edward Ougel Jr., Kim Rouse, and Chester Cheramie. 

She was known best as “Mrs. Ougel”, Catherine was a retired school teacher and devoted 49 and a half years of her life to touching the lives of many throughout the years. She loved spending time with her family, watching sports, crossword puzzles, and watching game shows on television. 

The family will like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jeffery at Thibodaux Regional, St. Joseph Hospice, neighbors, and friends for all the love and care they have provided over the years for Catherine.
