Mrs. Carolyn Folse Legendre, of Raceland, Louisiana, was born July 11, 1941 in Raceland. She passed away at her Daughter's home in Frederick Maryland on April 7, 2023, at the age of 81 years old.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Norman "Joe" Legendre Jr., as well as her parents Harold Folse Sr. and Adriel Z. Folse.
Carolyn is survived by her Daughters Colette Benton (Bill), and Alicee Legendre. Furthermore, she is survived by her two Grandsons, Ryan Foret (Francesca) and William Benton III (Maureen); and two Great-Granddaughters, Fiona Foret and Blake Benton. Additionally, she is survived by siblings Harold "Boo" Folse Jr. (Mary), Pamela Folse, Patricia Folse (Howard), Ted Folse, Adriel "Tee" Folse (Troy).
She was born and raised in Raceland, graduating from Raceland High School, marrying her devoted husband Joe Legendre. Carolyn worked as a bank teller and raised a family. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church where she volunteered, and supported Joe in his many Knights of Columbus activities especially in baking numerous lemon meringue pies. She was particularly fond of fishing, flowers, and animals of all kind; including her daily feeding of local animals. If she wasn't home, she could often be found by the levee or the pond next door in her golf cart fishing. Carolyn will be remembered for her warm smile and great sense of humor.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9-11 am, at St. Hilary's of Poitiers Catholic Church, 333 Twin Oaks Dr, Raceland, LA. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with interment of Remains to follow at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church Cemetery, 3500 Highway 1, Raceland, LA 70394.
