Brenda Toups Martinez
November 9, 1946 — February 21, 2022
Brenda T. Martinez, 75, a native and resident of Gheens, LA, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gheens, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Anthony Martinez, III, Cassie Thomas Martinez (Tammy); Shannon M. Plaisance, Cody J. Martinez (Denise) and Robert R. Martinez; brothers, Kearney, Dean, Reed, Randy “Joe” and Lane Toups; sisters, Dolores Foreman, Connie Matherne, Cathy Durio and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony J. Martinez, Jr.; daughter, Tracey M. Martinez; son-in-law, Tad Plaisance; parents, Thomas and Bess Dufrene Toups; brothers, Donavon, Alvin, Cleary, Tommy, Dale, Lindel and Sandy “Pap” Toups and sister, Lois Walker, Shillie Sampey and Wanda Toups.
Brenda enjoyed playing cards and watching game shows on TV. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
