Bobby Gene Stephenson, retired principle of Hahnville High School, born in Arp, TX raised in Ville Platte, LA and resident of Luling, LA, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the age of 79.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Luling from 9 AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church starting at 12 noon with a private burial to follow.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Vickie Faucheux Stephenson; daughter, Heidi Stephenson Stein; brother, Jimmy Wayne Stephenson; sister, Beatrice Stephenson Tate (John Wallace Tate); grandchild, Ethan Michael Stein; sister-in-law, Elizabeth P. Stephenson.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Conliff Stephenson; mother, Della Mae Smith Stephenson; brothers, R.B. Stephenson, Donald C. Stephenson; sister-in-law, Rebecca S. Stephenson.

He graduated from Sacred Heart High School. After spending five years at American Cyanamid and three years in the army, he decided to go to college with Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Nicholls State University. He attended over 30 hours of PHD credit at Southeastern and Tulane University. He started teaching at Hahnville High School in 1967, mainly in Social Studies areas. In 1969 he was transferred to Carver Jr. High where he served four years as Assistant Principal. From Carver he spent a short year at Paradis Elementary before being returned to Carver as principal, a post he held for two years. He was then appointed principal at Hahnville High School in 1976, and remained there until 1999 upon his retirement.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
