Beverly Sinor

d. September 25, 2016

Beverly M. Bourgeois Sinor, 93, a native of Houma, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in New Orleans, on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Visitation will be from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Falgout Funeral Home, Houma, LA and from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 30, 2016, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., with interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by her daughter, Emily Sinor Clouatre, two sons, Howard Earl Sinor, Jr. (Katy) and Peter Sinor (Melanie), all of New Orleans, LA; seven grandchildren, Amy Jane Clouatre, Sally Crystelle Sinor, Vera Sue Myers (Jason), Sarah Joan Sinor, Sadie Ann Sinor, William Peter Sinor, Benjamin Michael Sinor; and four great-grandchildren, Emmery and Geneva Clouatre, Dustin and Jessica Myers.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard Earl ("Si") Sinor, and their daughter, Sally Ann Sinor; along with her parents, former Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Peter G. Bourgeois, Sr. and Elizida "Lizzie" Barrilleaux Bourgeois; her siblings, Jeanne B. DeClouet, Mae B. Broussard, and Irene B. Tabor, and Peter G. Bourgeois, Jr.

Beverly was born on December 25, 1922, graduated from Terrebonne High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana Lafayette). She was a cheerleader and active in numerous clubs at both institutions. While working as a teacher in Bayou du Large, she met Si, who was stationed in Houma during World War II as a Naval blimp pilot. They married in 1946. Beverly (or "Aunt Ta" as she was known to so many of her Houma family) had an unquenchable thirst for life. She loved any and all social gatherings and never turned down a chance to travel. She was a founding member and reigned for years as de facto "Queen" of the Krewe of Kooyon. She was an avid tennis player, garden club member, and in her younger days, golfer. But mostly, she loved being with her extended family.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canon Hospice.
