Betty Martin Loupe, 77, a native of Raceland and resident of Des Allemands, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Claude "Brud" Loupe and companion, Kyle, Adam Loupe and wife, Melissa, and Al Loupe; daughters, Arlene L. Hall, Claudia L. Cortez and husband, Kruzer, and Theresa Lynne L. Pickett and husband, Ray; brother, Michael Martin; sisters, Loraine Pierce and Pamela Falgout; seven grandchildren, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Hall, Christopher Pickett Sr. and wife, Terena, Ryan Hall, Aaron Cortez, Lauren Cortez and Lawrence Loupe; step-grandchildren, Keegan Finkenbiner, Cameron Fuller and Autumn Fuller; and great-grandchild, Christopher Pickett Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "LaLan" Loupe; parents, Lawrence Sr. and Irene Martin; daughter, Irene Loupe; and brothers, Norris Martin and Lawrence Martin Jr.
She was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
She was a volunteer for the Catfish Festival and a CCD teacher. She was the 2008 grand marshall for the Des Allemands parade, and she was an avid LSU and Saints fan.
