Bella C. Dufrene, 87, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017.
Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, May 27th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Cheramie Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Wade (Mary S.) Dufrene; daughters, Verna Dufrene Hebert and Wanda (Dean) LeBlanc; brother, Arcelon "Butch" Callais, III; sister, Meyan Dufrene; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Dufrene, Sr.; parents, Arcelon, Sr. and Lillian Callais; sons, Francis "Frenchy" Dufrene, Jr. and Patrick "Pat" Dufrene; brothers, John Callais, Arcelon Callais, Jr., Livingston Callais and Felton "Tony" Callais; sisters, Minola Griffin, Gloria Danos and Felecia Mayeur; 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.
She was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, watching TV, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and was a Michael Jordan fan.
