Aswell Paul Domangue, Sr., age 88, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 6:15 p.m. He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Thursday, May 25, 2023, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
Aswell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elsie “Marie” Courteaux Domangue; sons, Marty J. Domangue and wife, Donna, Audie M. Domangue and fiancé, Sheila LeCompte, and Channing Domangue; daughters, Monica D. Redman, and Elsie D. LeBlanc and husband, Micheal “Mike”; daughter-in-law, June W. Domangue; brothers, Mark Domangue and wife, Lynn, and Randzel Domangue and wife, Donna; sisters-in-law, Lois and Alberta Domangue; grandchildren, Whitney (Carroll) Punch, Ashley (Ethan) Domangue. Laurel (Jared) Domangue, Kayla (Jordy) Domangue, Ellen (Jacob) Coffman, Chris (Tasha) Ward, Ashleigh (Eric) Romero, Dylan (Candace) Hamilton, David (Lauren) Redman, Aurora (Brandon) Portier, Bobby (Dustin) Adams, Julia LeBlanc, Shaun (Crystal) LeBlanc, Shane LeBlanc, and Lacie (Jason) LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Conor, Madison, Reid, Taylor, Brianna, Colin, Jaden, Brennan, Evan, Avery, Asher, Charli, Joseph (Mikeyla), Shaun Jr., Zachary, Alyssa, Natalie, Jeremiah, Dason, and Olivia; and great-great grandchildren, Kynleigh, Harper, and Kalei`a; his fur babies, Frog and Lucy; godchildren, Dane Domangue, Anna Arceneaux, and Arlene Poiencot; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Aswell was preceded in death by his son, Aswell P. Domangue, Jr.; daughter, Genevieve Gregoire; father, Shaffer Domangue Sr. and wife, Wilma, and mother, Alice Lapeyrouse Domangue; brothers, Ewade (Lois), Irey (Viley), Shaffer Jr., and Eural Domangue; sister, Rena (Nolan Sr.) Blanchard; and godchild, Kerin Blanchard.
Aswell was a retired tug boat captain after 30+ years. In his past time, he enjoyed trawling, wood carving, gardening, and playing pedro with his family. He loved singing to his grandchildren. Aswell believed in the holy spirit and attend Bethel Baptist Church in Bourg. He fought a good fight till the end.
