Antoinette Bergeron Naquin, 103, a native of Lafourche Parish, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Memorial United Methodist Church in Mathews. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in Barrios Cemetery in Valentine.
She is survived by her daughter, Bertha Valentine; one daughter-in-law, Betty Naquin; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Naquin; parents, John and Ida Porche Bergeron; son, Rodney Naquin; daughter, Doris Mitchell; brother, Dewey Bergeron; sisters, Florine Adams and Mable Quatrevingt; granddaughter, Karen Davine; two granddaughters-in-law; and one infant grandchild.
She was known as Mama or Nannan. In her younger days, she spent countless hours preparing and cooking her traditional after-church Sunday lunches for the family and friends. She spent her mature years creating and making personalized quilts that she passed along to her five generations of loved ones. Her love, devotion and example will be truly missed by all.
